Foundational Mathematical Concepts
ONLINE courses
New online courses that cater for practitioners in the EYFS and KS1. Reception and KS1 are a focus within the Curriculum Review and in OFSTEDs foundational education report.
We will look at what is foundational fluency in EYFS and KS1 including Number Bonds, Number Sense and Additive reasoning structures. Concepts including conservation of number, perceptual and conceptual subitising, counting and cardinality and composition will be covered. We will look at specialist knowledge and practical ideas and activities using manipulatives to support deep learning and Oracy. We will also cover reasoning in everyday contexts including the use of 'story boxes' to support immersion and talk.
